I believe you have been very clear in your post, here. I also feel you are making a fair assessment of how things are on this forum. I have to wonder if you are simply being critical, or if you are advocating a change. Regardless, I will attempt some kind of response.

First of all, as for music that is on my stand: two Mark Hinsley transcriptions, Don Juan and Oberon, plus Symphonic Dance Music from West Side Story(Bernstein). These are things we are playing in the San Antonio Wind Symphony. They REQUIRE my practice. For my own personal use, I may practice virtually anything, written for virtually any instrument. At present, I am practicing some things from March to the Scaffold.

So what are you practicing on? Let's hear your responses to your own questions. I'm ready to discuss music. I'd like to learn some more. Bring it on.
