I have tried the Culbertson CC rotary in my orchestra and thought it was a very good instrument. For a 6/4 I still prefer my Yorkbrunner. I think you owe it to yourself to try the PT-7 and the PT-6 rotary and piston versions. These tubas are getting better all the time it seems. I was in Germany in October and I played three PT-6Ps at Bob Tucci's Tuba Center. These were all very good but two of them were silver plated and ready to be sent to Japan and these were both very fine instruments. They are not as large as the Culbertson but check them out before you make your final decision. All these instruments have very good workmanship and finish.
