This has no doubt surfaced on this BBS before but I must have missed it. Are there any articles or books on the web or in paper copy that discuss the technicalities of rotary valve maintenance? Like...how often to clean them and oil them, or HOW best to oil them. I heard somewhere that two different kinds of oil should be used - heavier stuff (like key oil that woodwinds use) for the spindle, and regular valve oil for the roter itself.
