Hey Folks -
I've got some important info to pass along to everyone..........
1. The next deadline for submissions for items for the T.U.B.A. Journal
News is 01 FEB 99. Please send all news items directly to me - this
includes new positions, new horns/product info, new music info, etc.
etc. Some folks have been sending items to Jerry Young for the News
column. This just slows down the process of getting them into the
Journal on time, as Jerry just sends them all back to me to be edited,
etc.
You may send any and all items (accompanying photos are encouraged!)
to me via e-mail (kotuba(AT)erols.com) or snail mail....

And, as usual, we can bend the 01 FEB 99 deadline a little bit. I'm
on the road touring the bulk of February, and I don't anticipate getting
any News stuff wrapped until 15 FEB 99 or so. As always, News items do
not have to be "world class" events - anything that you feel would be of
interest to the Journal readers and T.U.B.A. is most welcome!
2. For those of you attending the U.S. Army Band Tuba Conference in
Washington, D.C. this week - 27 Jan through 30 Jan: The "Tribute to
Arnold Jacobs" by Andre Smith, which was scheduled for 12:30 on 30 Jan
99, has been CANCELED.
3. The T.U.B.A. Executive Committee has recently announced those people
nominated to run for T.U.B.A. officer positions. Ballots will be mailed
out to all current T.U.B.A. members soon. If you are not a member of
T.U.B.A., now is a great time to join. Those nominated to run for office
are as follows:
