I think Charlie Krause at Brasswind likes the VMI also. I own a VMI bass trombone and like the quality very much. It cost far less than US products. I also purchased B&S C and B flat trumpets made in that big VMI factory. I selected these after a side-by-side testing of Bach, Benge, Besson, and Yamaha trumpets. The Germans won hands down in my opinion. They are producing some fine horns out of that shop these days.
