I am a tuba player at UCF i play in the orchestra, wind ensemble, and the low brass ensembles. I own a few tubas which i use at school and other gigs. However the school does provide BB-flat tubas if you need one. they are not spectacular horns but they get the job done. i think 3 others at school also own their own tuba. my advice about getting a horn is to talk to your tuba teacher if you have one and if not wait until next year when ucf provides you one. i made the mistake of being hasty and getting a b-flat tuba in 12 grade the next year i traded it in and got a CC-tuba and got about a thousand less than what i payed for my tuba. it is very pricey to "upgrade" 1 year after you buy a horn. I honestly know about it i am 21 years old and have invested about $25,000 dollars in tubas and mouthpieces. GOOD LUCK
