Check out the Tips section here on the BBS. Sean put up some MP3 files from an Arnold Jacobs masterclass. Part of it covers breathing.
To summarize what he says: The human body is a marvelous machine; it knows how to do certain things such as breathing. Don't get too hung up on exactly where the air goes when you inhale. Instead, concentrate on sucking as much air in as you can, and your body will automatically know where to put it.
(Don't let this summary stop you from checking out the recordings. You'll miss too much if you don't listen to them.)
