I am a trombone player looking to convert to tuba. I have played at the college level for many years on the trombone. Any uggestions as to the type of tuba I might want to look at. I have received some suggestions of a 3/4 size tuba, such as the Meinl-Weston 18. I will play primarily with small brass groups, so would the 3/4 size be sufficient, or would I be better off to just go ahead and learn to play a 4/4? Any other models to recommend. I currently like the dark sound in brass instruments as it seems to go well with the music i play.
