Play the notes of your favorite major scale, but start on the 6th note and play up one octave- that is called the natural minor (relative minor to be exact). Raise the 7th by a half step to make it harmonic; raise the 6th and 7th to make it melodic (lower these notes on the way back down). This is all you need to know about minor scales.
