Tony,

Thanks!

I used both a PT-48 and a PT-34, with the expected results; the 34 gave a little better intonation and security in the very high register, and the 48 gave a huge sound and enormous low register. I'm not sure what mpc. ships with the King, but I went ahead and switched back to the Helleberg that shipped with my 56J, simply because it seemed to give a much tighter sound to the small bore than the 34 or the 48.

BTW, I am discovering that the small bore of the horn does something interesting in the low register. There seems to be a point of diminishing returns when it comes to the volume of air used around low Eb down to low Db. Unlike the large-bore horns I've always played, it seems that more is not necessarily better in this instance, and some finesse is required. Do you notice this?
