I am starting to loose hearing in my right ear as well. I have preferred the left slant most of my life, and have tried the weril and yamaha 3/4 that is the same thing. (yeah, I know)
I have been drawn to the apparent sound of the weril and yamaha, as compared to larger bell instruments that end up being farther away from the ear, such as the mirafone 186, jupiter 582, even both versions of the king 2341. (the newer 2341's are closer to the ear)
My conn grand orchestral(?) has somewhat of a meeting place between the smaller yamaha/weril and the aforementioned larger horns, as I am using a 20 inch king bell on the horn as of now. The newer 2341 would be really close to the same area.
