I would disagree that the Willson is significantly smaller.
The Willson bell sticks up a few inches farther into the air. If you measure the size of a Willson bell and a Holton bell (btw, both 20" diameter at the top and with a fat flair), measure the distance down to the small end of the Holton bell section, and then measure the same distance down the Willson bell (not to the bottom of the Willson bell, as the Willson bell is taller), their diameters will be about the same at the same point.
Yes, the Willson bottom bow is smaller, but the Willson bottom bow occurs farther away from the bell on a Willson than on the old Holton.
