Occasionally, Walter offers to select from maybe 2 or 3 that he coincidently might have at the same time by trying them, so - analysing this could lead to the conclusion, that even he himself maybe does not bet on a 100% constant consistency.
As for mps, I found fantastic mps with several rims to screw on, so you can vary not only the rim dia. but also the total cup depth. The one I use most of the time was developed by the Spanish tuba virtuosis Miguel Navarro. It's versatility is great at a modest price. If you should be interested, contact me privately.
