I find Phil's editing to be invalid, because none of the nutty articulations that were added (to get around technical problems) are consistent with the accompaniment. Sometime, have a look at the original manuscript - rental score. If you look under all of the various conductors' pencil marks, you'll see a cleanly-composed and logically- (originally) articulated piece without any of the "uk-uh-tooh-aahh-puck-uh-tooh-aahh" stuff (added only to avoid tricky slurs) and note substitutions found in the Oxford.
