I am in the market for a new euphonium. Up to this point I have owned a Besson 967.
I am not willing to shell-out the large amount of cash for a Prestige. However, I have been told
that the Yamaha Custom YEP-842S is a stellar instrument. If you own or have had a chance to play the
Yamaha Custom for an extended period of time, please post your thoughts on intonation, tone color (low, middle and high registers), valve action, etc.
My main concern is tone color. Tormod Flaten and John Mueller, both Yamaha Euphonium Artists, tend to have a "bright"
sound. Both are great players, but I prefer a "darker" sound. I plan on testing one out in the next week or so, but would like
to know what to be wary of before hand. I also plan on recording myself playing my Besson and the Yamaha.

Thanks,

YEP 842S
