No, this one was in low pitch, about A=435 with the slide all the way in. I actually had the main slide cut to allow it to play in tune. The other slides were OK, but they have an incredibly long travel so I suspect that at one time there was also a high pitch tuning slide to go with this. It was in pretty rough shape, but I had it overhauled by Wayne Tanabe. It now has sterling silver patches on the valve knuckles and one small patch in the bell, and some scars left from dent removal. But it has beautiful engraving all the way down the bell with flowers, butterflies, and a scene of a farm, and of course the typical Distin fancy ferrules and braces. Matt Walters tried it and put it in his top 10 tubas in response.
