Jim wrote a letter to the Editor of the TUBA Journal that appears on page 15 of the Spring 2000 issue. He was responding to the previous issue's appeal for a search for missing subcontrabass tubas (how DO you hide such monsters?) A photo of Jim with his "discovered monster tuba on wheels," showing the detail of the convenient spigot, carries the caption, "We suspect that this is NOT intended as a 'condensation release!'"
