AP Wire Report-Jackson, Mississippi
Officials in Jackson report that city Police Officers have discovered a warehouse on Terry Road that contains 168,000 cubic feet of stolen low Ab's from the Yamaha Musical Instrument Company of Japan. Jackson City Councilman Kenneth Stokes told our correspondant,"We got us a whole mess of low Ab's...mostly from tubas, we think...but a few are suspiciously bassoonish-sounding. This is really an unprecidented and apalling discovery." Internal JPD estimates place a hefty street value on the aproximately 97.3 millions of low Ab's: a whopping $1.63! An unidentified source from within the Yamaha corporate structure claims that these notes all should have shipped with thousands of YBB 641 model tubas bound for the US from 1985 through 1999. "We were wondering where all of those low Ab's had got to! They started disappearing by the thousands as soon as we went to the more cost-efficient two-piece leadpipe. But we still have no idea how they came to be in Jackson, Mississippi. I just hope we are not slapped with a big class-action lawsuit like those tobacco guys." Owners of these tubas may contact Yamaha directly for their factory-selected portion of the missing pitch. Pre-1885 YBB 641's are not affected, however.
