Interesting concept. How was the final product? I finally got to honk on a Jupiter 582 at the Texas Band Masters Convention this past week and was very imperessed. I did instantly notice the second valve slide problem but otherwise a really fun horn to play. I could see that bell giving the Miraphone a more focused and slightly more lean sound. What type of costs would be involved here (bell+labor ect..) This would be a procedure I might consider having done to a few of the older Miraphones the school district I work for owns. It might beat buying a brand new instrument.
