Don't use Tarn-X. While there's worse stuff out there, what Tarn-X won't do is leave a shine. It'll remove the black deposits okay, the the result will be sort of filmy looking. And it is pretty active chemically, so I wouldn't want to have some lodge in an inaccesible nook or cranny. If you want easy, try Hagerty's aerosol polish. Spray it on, rinse it off.
Then use Windex and a soft cotton t-shirt after playing to keep your horn shiny.
Or, you can let your horn tarnish to a nice black, call the tarnish "patina" and instead of polishing, practice.
