Well, being a student of Abe Torchinsky.. I love his sound, and overall concept of sound. How do you think Deck got his awesomely huge sound? It's true to be said though, that ideas of sounds, and playing have changed today. We have a much more round sound, and overall the level of virtuosity has gone way up. We can partly attribute this to the advancement of brass instrument makers, but must not shy away from the idea that the tuba is gaining popularity among the younger generations. Even if you'e looking to hear that different sound.. listen to Bishop, with cleveland. He's still got a similar sound to the days of old.
