I played a brass quintet job this afternoon in honor of the holiday. The concert was at a large city park. It was a community gathering, and my quintet was just one of many groups on the program. Anyway.....long story short. The chairs provided by the venue were "less than preferable". During the second tune of our portion of the program one of our trumpet players sneezed rather aggressively, and his chair collapsed beneath him. He fell flat on his butt in front of about 2,000 people. Luckily neither he nor his horn were injured. After we realized what had happened, we all had a good laugh.

Anybody else got any good July 4th stories?
