I don't belive that the price of the tuba should be of any concern, as long as it has been determined of 'fair market value'. Who determines that? Well... I think that is a debateable topic- my opinion is that the consumer actualy determines the price by providing a market. If you are disappointed with the products stop buying them and the price will obviously go down. The problem is so will the market.
Buy what you sound the best on! You provide the sound and the tuba amplifies it.
Don't Buy anything until you can make what you have sound amazing. The instrument is your body and your mind:) Learn to play these first... and then invest money into a really high quality sound amplifier or as we have named it a tuba.
Try everything! Don't limit yourself to anything!
