They are about the same, but with a different bell shape making it hard to compare.

As to Mary Ann's question:

I would actually rank the Meinl-Weston in the middle, and call the Rudy (listed as a 5/4), Miraphone, and Willson the big F tubas. The Meinl-Weston 45SLP is sorta like the 822 in general size. The B&S is about the same.

I haven't approached any of these with a ruler, though I did look at a MW182 and a Yamaha 621 side-by-side at a conference. These are just the way they seemed to me.
