I briefly played one of these big RM BBb tubas last weekend at a well-known mid-Atlantic outlet.
For those who've not played one and are in the BBb market, these are exceptionally fine 5/4-size rotary BBb tubas. Everything about them is "just right": the sound quality, response, intonation - the whole package. Sounds jump out of the instrument almost as quickly as on good CC instruments.
This would be a great tuba for a professional BBb player, amateur BBb player who would like to own a Willson but doesn't quite have a Willson budget, or a band director who has an outstanding band with an outstanding budget.
In the mid-$5XXX range (+ case), this tuba fills both a quality and price point void in the BBb market.
