Ya know, when most (famous) musicians play concerts, they play their HITS.
Orchestras try to NOT repeat stuff for several years, and avoid playing many HITS.
Once or twice a year, REGULAR SUBSCRIPTION SERIES need to include stuff that many music directors consider "trite" or "banal". They need to remember that the first 50 - 100 times they heard those pieces, they themselves were bowled-over by them.
Let new generations hear the HITS, rather than avoiding playing them because they are banal to the players.
