Can we say "double pedals"? Generally highly impractical on a tuba (might as well be dribbling a medicine ball!), but theoretically not impossible if the lips will go slowly enough. And yes, double pedals do exist, although I still haven't heard anybody play one on an instrument lower than a trombone or euph. If you're into loudspeaker design, this is getting into the "excursion limits of the face".
I can play just as high on my tuba as I can on a trumpet. Decent for tuba, but awful for trumpet -- my top-of-the-staff G will just not impress people who are used to the likes of Arturo Sandoval! :-)
