I would add that you shouldn't use Hetmann synthetic on top of a petroleum-based oil. The synthetic oil in combination with the petroleum oil will cause a greenish, almost papery film to coat your horn, especially near the valves and in the tuning slides. This film is relatively easy to remove, but can cause a great deal of stickiness and such as it will collect in the valves. I reccomend cleaning your horn thoroughly then applying the synthetic products and NOTHING BUT the synthetic products for best performance.

Just a little advice from someone who learned firsthand about the incompatability of synthetics and petroleum based products.
