Once again, not to be at all hypercritical, but I'm still just a little confused. Are you trying to say that sound was *not* the deciding factor? If not sound then what? Since Alexanders have a reputation for being a bear to play would it be fair of me to assume that you simply got tired of dealing with intonation and response issues and found a horn that let you spend more time focusing on the music?

Once again, I'm sure that the Alex is a great horn but the answers to all the questions posed thus far have seemed to merely revolve around the 'Alex Mystique' and employed lots of typical musician speak(i.e. groovy feel good vague answers that lack substance).
