WWII Sousaphones ? (STAR brand?)

Hi BBSers! I have a high school friend who has the 2 "Sousaphones". They are Sousaphones but they are much smaller. One of them is a STAR brand. He said that the STAR brand was made from used artillery shells! WIERD! The other is a small YORK Eb Sousaphone from the same time period. The YORK Eb gooseneck only takes a baritone/trombone mouthpiece though. Cheap, but vintage Sousaphones indeed. They are very small though! If any of you fellow Sousaphone lovers have any info., that would be cool. I figure this is the only place to get valuable info.!
