I like the Eb Sousaphones. I have a very old Conn Pan American that looks just like the York one you are referring to. You can still buy Conn tuning bits but unless you convert the receiver you'll need the small shank mouthpiece. They are pretty common if you watch for them on Ebay. Actually, they are quite a bit larger than trombone or baritone ms's. Joe Sellmansberger will probably respond to your posting as he knows lots about these things. At the moment, I have a Reynolds Eb and the Conn Pan American Eb. I use the same neck, tuning bits, and mp on both of them with good results. I use the same mp's in my Holton and Conn upright tubas also.
