Ok, I guess I didn't really mean crappy. I suppose what I meant was that the accomp. parts aren't very musically significant w/o the solo (you are basically playing the same role as a rhythm section, just w/o the freedom that they enjoy) and uninteresting with the exception of a phrase here or there. The band transcription (I think they were all transcriptions) seems unnecesary, as the scoring is hardly ever used to create variations in color or texture. It's always the same instruments playing the same thing. That's why it sounds like a piano accomp.
