And that's where you and I part company. I try and avoid, if at all possible, adjusting any pitches with my embouchure. Just like you said, players doing this will not get the same sound on the same pitch when they're adjusting it +/- with the embouchure. That's why I firmly believe that moving slides is the best alternative. Using the main slide to do all pitch adjustment makes the most sense to me. There is no pitch that can't be adjusted with it.
