Newer does not mean better; newer means newer.

Try Blazhevich and Bordogni for starters. They contain plenty of material for that age group, as well as younger players on up through yourself and beyond.

Rubank is just as big a challenge to a kid working it up the first time today as it was in 1939. And that will always be the case. "Stalwarts" get that way because they fill a need. In many cases, "stalwarts" are easy to find and inexpensive, filling even more needs. While "stalwarts" might not be fresh to you, they are to the student.
