I take my l'il index finger and follow the tuba around-and-around until the music comes out "here". Many tubas designed in the last 10 or 15 years make three circles, whereas older designs (or quasi-faithful copies of older designs) make four circles.

Your Holton and your B&M/York Master make four circles, as does a Miraphone 186 (albeit with a special consideration). Willson 3050/3100 tubas and Hirsbrunner 4/4 tubas, as examples, make three circles.
