as this opinion is... I really like my Sterling. The whole horn resonates when I play (especially after I suspended the lead pipe) and intonation is pretty good (after I shortened valve slide #2). One good thing about nobody else liking these horns is that you can often get VERY good deals. Play all of them you can find and buy the one that fits you, or buy some other horn that does. Honestly, when I set out to find the horn to replace my smashed Besson... I was set against the Sterling. I played all the horns at a convention without looking at names, tags, or prices. The Sterling was the best of the bunch. I love it almost as much as my old horn, and the valves are much better. Good luck with your search.
