I'm not a doctor and I don't play one anywhere, but...
I have been advised to use and have used hydrogen peroxide solution to rinse the mouth for the purpose of cleaning cuts or other damage. It doesn't taste wonderful but is not really bad and apparently it kills bacteria by oxidizing them.
You may want to check with your doctor, but I can report good results, personally.
