Hola tuba comrades...

I have played rotary tubas all my life, and love the sound that comes out of them, but recently I have noticed that most proffesionals play piston (Canadian Brass's Daughtenbac, Jim Self, Patrick Sheridan, etc..). I have still been searchen' for that one "tuba for me", and when consulting a local tuba proffesional I was told that pistons can play faster, are less of a hastle than rotary, and have a more defined note. What to do... Sam Pilifian plays rotary, and he plays great, but is it to my benefit to look for a piston valve tuba to purchase instead of a rotary? Any advice on the subject is greatly appreciated, and any suggestions on specific types and brands of tubas that you would recomend (well priced tubas that are, CC, 5 valves, 5/4, etc..).
