Walt Johnson cases are the best buy out there. The case for your horn is about $800. That is only a couple hundred dollars more than a generic wooden case. Fly with the wooden case a few times and both the case and your horn will be damaged. If the Johnson case is damaged, then Johnson cases will do most of the legwork in getting the horn repaired AND it will be at no cost to you! I have had them do 1 major case repair and one case replacement due to severe airline damage. I paid nothing and Johnson cases took care of almost all the paperwork with the airlines. In both situations my horn was unscathed.

Cough up the extra bucks now or be willing to deal with damaged instruments.
