I just recently puchased a G50 from Fedderly and find the horn to have solid intonation. I don't need to pull slides and the fifth valves (flat whole step) makes most of the notes below low F right on pitch.
I think it is a much better CC horn than a BBb, but I purchased it as a CC only. When I teach students who have BBb horns, I simply depress the 5th valve trigger and I can play along with them with the same fingerings. The BBb side is a little stuffier.
My dealings with David have only been very professional. He has always been willing to answer my questions and I was treated very fairly in both the purchase of my G50 and the sale of my previous tuba.
