The King 26 was (at least through the 1930's) the standard mouthpiece supplied with BBb "basses" (as they called tubas) and sousaphones. They cost $3.50 in silverplate and $4.50 in gold plate in the 1938 catalog.

I vaguely remember playing one briefly in high school with a King BBb sousaphone and not liking it very well. On the other hand, Bill Bell, who endorsed King basses, suggested in his method books that one try the mouthpiece supplied with a horn, as it was at least likely to be decent and appropriate for the horn.

At any rate it was not a design that was so popular (such as the Conn Hellebergs and Conn 2 or various Bach mouthpieces) that you see it widely imitated and used today.
