That could be Howard. I talked with Don Harry about the 601 before I purchased and he made the suggestions about which modifications and why. When I ordered the horn I had to order the parts necessary to make the modifications. These parts took an extra year to arrive so I had plenty of time to get comfortable with the 601 in its "natural" state. All I can tell you is that after the modifications, that horn played alot better. It was a staggering difference. Not that the horn wasn't pretty good to start with. I may just be a little more sensitive to sympathetic vibrations in a horn because my Rudolf Meinl RM-10 is made of a thick metal and doesn't lose very much sound energy. Anyhow, thanks for the nice compliment. I really enjoy exchanging information on the Tube-Net, you might say I have a passion for the subject matter...
