I think that would be a tough trade at least for a Besson-- used Besson compensators go for $1800 to $2500 depending on the age and condition of the horn (a new 967 or 968 is around $3200 (lacquer) to $3400 (silverplate) at the Brasswind) I think that's more than the $1600 or so that a YEP 321 goes for at Brasswind brand new.

Best place to try would be a high school -- where the kids like shiny new better than grat playing -- here in Greenwich the director told me the other day his best players prefer the Yamaha 321s horns to his two lacquer Besson 968s. No, he knows what they are and won't part with them...
