Rotary Valve Bumpers

I think I have arrived upon a topic that hasn't been discussed to death quite yet ;b. I'm curious what people use for bumpers on their rotary valves. Most new horns have silicone which lasts longer but has a tendency to bounce and I'm not sure how one gets replacement silicone. The second option appears to be cork.. my current choice.. it's easy to get more of, only a little louder than silicone, and doesn't bounce. The third choice that I'm aware of is vaccuum cleaner belt. This is what my tuba prof uses. I'm not as familiar with this one but it appears to last extremely long. The down side would appear to be that it is much louder than the others.
Any thoughts?
