There are better horns out there. even used ones would be better. I play an old Boosey and Hawkes Eb. Booseys are no longer made, but Bessons are the same thing more or less. mine has the compensating fourth valve. As mentioned above, Willson, Meinl Weston, Nirschl all make great Eb, but they are more expensive. I am looking to sell my Boosey, if you would be interested. I have had it for 15 years and i am looking to get a new one. Wonderlust I guess. My horn is a little stuffy down low, but I imagine it is better than the Czerveny. Czerveny horns are inconsistent in general. One horn will play great while the next one plays poorly. I love the Eb tuba however. I think it is a great horn for most applications. ken k
