Hi, don't know about what happened to that Alex CC, but I have a picture of a George Hambury with other gentlemen from the Chicago Symphony Brass Section from 1929 and he is clearly holding an Alex CC with what seems to be a 16" bell. At first I thought it might be a BBb because of the winding leadpipe, but upon further examination, I figured it was a CC because of the real short(and I mean SHORT!!!!) tuning slide. It has reversed valves(turnpost underneath not on top). Could this have been the horn? As a note, this picture has the tuba player named "Hambury" not Hamburg, could it be a typo, or have we gotten the name wrong all these years?
