Just out of curiosity, I got out an old tuba method from Denmark called "Tuba Skola" by Kirstein Christensen. There is a picture of, I am assuming, Mr. C. holding a 5 valve F that is TINY. 3 valves in the right hand and 2 in the left hand. The horn really doesn't have a bell, just a small flair at the end of the tube. The lead pipe goes into the top valve of the left hand. I can't imagine what it would be like to play it. Could this be a Dahmel? BTW, the fingering chart included for the F tuba is nothing like anything I have ever seen. Too hard to explain here, but if any one is interested I will e-mail them.
