Thanks Richard , you were right I just got the Nevsky cd today and it is by far the York. What a great recording! I also got the live Shostakovich 1&7 with Bernstein, one word for that one, WOW! Just some beautiful playing. I have a question for you that maybe you could answer for me. In Mr. Frederiksen's book Song and Wind it states in the back that Rex Martin was a sub on portions, do you know exactly what protions? It almost sounds like him all throughout with his 5/4 Rudy , a total different color sound to me than the York. I just got it yesterday and have only listened to it once so maybe I can go back and listen alittle closer.
