Thanks for all of your assistance Dave. I used to take lessons from a guy by the name of Don Strand, and he would chop me to bits with these ideas. I've stuck to them ever since, and yes the playing down there sounds good using that after I opened up that door again. I was just curious as to if anyone else had any luck with any other mouthpieces on the horn. I'm heading off to college next year, and I just would like to hopefully work my butt off and get into a good group when that time comes. I was just seeing if anyone had any suggestions on mouthpieces. The gold plating on my Helleberg is wearing off from playing on it for 3 years(along with multiple droppings at football games and falling out of the tuba), so I was looking into buying a new one.
