Well, I'm here in Santa Barbara, just north of Ventura. Unfortunately, there is never really much of interest to tubas going on, besides university concerts, and the quarter is out the last week in March. But as far as yer family, tell em to come up to Santa Barbara, a tourists paradise. Whale and dolphin watching is prime right now, which is always great. And you can actually do it directly from our beaches (with the oil rigs obscuring the view, of course. and it'll just get worse over the next 4 years...)

Just 2 hours south of Santa Barbara is where all of the action takes place, I'm afraid... hehe. You might be able to catch the Spanish National Orch. in SB that week, though, doing the Rodrigo Concerto de Aranjuez and other Spanish pieces. I'd go to that, but I'll be home! If you want more info regarding that, I can get some.

Benjamin
